There is no better way to start your day then with a slice of pizza. Today we made a delicious sausage breakfast pizza to devour before we headed out for our day. You can forget about arguing with your kiddos to eat their breakfast because they will gobble this up.
- refrigerated pizza dough
- Fresco Pizza Blend spice
- olive oil
- 1 lb. ground Italian sausage
- 1 red bell pepper
- 3oz. mushrooms
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Begin by rolling out your pizza dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Brush with a few tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle with Fresco Pizza Blend. Then partially bake your crust according to the package directions.
While your crust is baking, brown your sausage in a large skillet. Clean and chop the red bell pepper and add it to the browning sausage. Clean your mushrooms by brushing them off with a damp paper towel and add them to the skillet.
Whisk together four eggs in a bowl and pour them into your skillet with your sausage and veggies. Stir until eggs are scrambled.
Your pizza crust should be partially baked at this point. I then brush it again with a little olive oil and give it another sprinkle of Fresco Pizza Blend before spooning the contents of the skillet onto the crust. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and put it back into the oven. Cook until the cheese is melted and crust is fully baked and crispy.
I then topped mine with a little fresh diced cherry tomatoes and avocado. Perfection!
